Strawberry Headband
Skill level:
Finished sizes: 14" infant head.
Materials:
Sport weight 3-ply yarn, white, red and a little green.
Sizes G/6/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Yarn needle.
Rnd1: with white, ch10, join with sl st in first ch to form ring, 15sc in ring, join with slst in first sc, [ch10,
join with sl st in 10th ch from hook, pass yarn under previous ring, work 7 sc in ring just made], 7 times.
Ch10, join with sl st in 10th ch from hook, pass thread under other rings, work 15 sc in ring. [sl st in side
of last sc in next ring, 7sc in remainder of ring], 7 times, sl st in top of joining sl st on last ring.
Rnd2: sl st in next sc on ring, sc in next, [ch3, skip next sc, sc in next] 6 times.
A. *skip last sc on this ring and first sc on next ring, sc in next, [ch3, skip next sc, sc in next] twice,
*repeat * 6 more times.
B. skip last sc on this ring and first sc on end ring, sc in next, [ch3, skip next sc, sc in next] 6 times.
C. repeat section A, join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd3: sl st in 1st ch of next ch3, sc in same ch3 sp, ch3, sc in next ch3 sp, [ch5, sc in next ch3 sp] 3
times, ch3, sc in next ch3 sp, [ch5, sc in next ch3 sp, ch3, sc in next ch3 sp] 7 times, ch5, sc in next ch3
sp, ch3, sc in next ch3 sp, [ch5, sc in next ch3 sp] 3 times, ch3, sc in next ch3 sp. [ch5, sc in next ch3 sp,
ch3, sc in next ch3 sp] 7 times, ch5, sl st in 1st sc. Fasten off.
Rnd4: with Red, sl st in 1st ch of ch3, sc in same ch3 sp, ch1, *sc in next ch5 sp, [ch3, sc in same sp] 3
times,*, repeat between * 2 more times,
A. ch1, sc in next sp, ch1, sc in next ch5 sp, [ch3, sc in same sp] 3 times. Repeat Sec A 7 more times.
B. ch1, sc in next sp, ch1, *sc in next ch5 sp, [ch3, sc in same sp] 3 times,* repeat between * 2 more
times.
C. Work section A once more, join with sl st in first sc.
String for headband (make two):
Join white to end stitch of headband, ch80, fasten off.
Strawberry
Row1: with red, ch4, 5dc in beg ch.
Row2: ch3, turn, dc in same st, dc in each of next dc, dc in top of ch4.
Row3: ch3, turn, (yo, insert hook in next st, pull up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) 6 times, yo,
draw through all loops on hook, fasten off.
Leaves
With green ch9, sl st in beg ch, ch6, sl st in beg ch, ch9 sl st in beg ch, fasten off.
Sew leaf in place of strawberry (see picture).
Sew Bigger Strawberry in place of Headband (see picture).
Strings for headband:
Use 2 strands of white, fasten on ch3 space of one end of headband, ch50, fasten off. Make the same
on the other end of headband.
